How Our Posture Affects Our Health

Gravity constantly pushes down on our bodies. It compresses every one of our cells towards the ground. When we stand, walk, jump and move in any way, we use energy to engage our muscles against gravity.

Most people spend the majority of their life sitting in unnatural positions. This damages their ability to stand/move properly, leading to repetitive stress injuries, restricted range of motion and chronic pain.

Bad posture not only affects muscles and bones but the entire human body as a whole. For example, compression on the spine can affect the function of organs and systems such as the brain, heart, lungs, the digestive system, the glandular system and the reproductive system, among many others.

Bad posture and bad movements can also affect our thoughts, emotions, mood and productivity.

Over time, these patterns can have serious consequences. In a best case scenario, people feel some level of pain and discomfort, educate themselves and do the right things to improve and feel better.

On a worst case scenario, people ignore the messages pain is bringing, often by taking drugs. This can lead to serious injuries, surgery and life altering events that limit people for the rest of their life.

This is why it is essential for humans to practice proper posture. The Foundation Training program can be a life saver for people with chronic pain and in many cases it has been the solution that prevented hundreds of people from getting surgery. Do your self a favor and take a look at it.

You will be happy you did. :)
