The Foundation Training Principles
Foundation Training is based on four core principles that can be applied to everyday movements.
#1: Decompression Breathing: A specific approach to taking deep breaths in a way that will create decompression and space across the body, especially within the spinal column.
#2: Anchoring: A specific approach to engage groups of muscles attached to the pelvis to stabilize the legs and pelvis, creating a solid foundation to support the rest of the body.
#3: Hinging: The simple action of hinging at the hip join in order to facilitate proper movement.
#4 Integration: The action of engaging different sets of muscles in order to create additional tension across muscle chains, leading to more powerful postures and movements.
